Terms of Use

Last updated: 9 October 2026

1. Who provides Statra

Statra is built and provided by Aaditya Nepal, Kathmandu, Nepal.

Statra is not provided by a company. These terms are an agreement between you and Aaditya Nepal personally. In them, "we" and "us" mean Aaditya Nepal, and "you" means the person or firm the licence is issued to.

You can reach us at support@statranepal.com.

2. Accepting these terms

You accept these terms by ticking the box when you activate Statra. If you accept on behalf of a firm, you confirm you are authorised to bind that firm.

An agreement accepted this way is as binding as a signed one. If you do not accept, do not activate Statra.

The Refund Policy forms part of these terms. The Privacy Policy explains what information Statra handles and where it goes.

3. Statra is in early access

Statra is early access software. It works, and it is still being built. It has known limitations, and some features are marked in the application as unvalidated or switched off.

These terms describe what Statra does today. Nothing we say about future features forms part of this agreement, and your licence does not include any future product.

4. Your professional responsibility

This is the most important section of these terms.

Statra assists with preparing financial statements. It does not replace professional judgement, it gives no accounting advice, and its output is not an audit opinion, assurance or certification of any kind.

Statra proposes a classification for each account, and you decide whether each one is right. Statra flags proposals it is unsure of, but a proposal it is sure of can still be wrong.

You remain responsible for:

  • the accuracy and completeness of the data you import
  • reviewing every proposal before you rely on it
  • the financial statements you prepare, issue or sign
  • complying with NFRS, NAS, the Nepal Chartered Accountants Act, ICAN's Code of Ethics and every other standard and law that applies to your work
  • your duty of confidentiality to your clients and, where you are employed, to your employer

Financial statements prepared with Statra are your statements and your responsibility.

5. Your licence

Your licence lets you use Statra on the number of devices, and for the term, stated on your bill. For a free licence, they are stated in the confirmation we send you.

  • Devices, not people. A licence counts devices. One person using both a laptop and a desktop uses two.
  • The term starts at first activation, not when the key is issued. A key not activated within 30 days of being issued expires unused.
  • Additional devices. Devices can be added to a firm licence for an additional fee. Added devices end on the same day as the licence they were added to.
  • Moving to another device. Use Release this device in Settings on the old computer. If you no longer have it, email support@statranepal.com and we will release the seat.
  • Free licences are given at no charge and with no obligation to buy. We may end or extend a free licence at our discretion.

Your key is bound to the devices it is activated on and is personal to you or your firm. Statra is licensed, not sold, so you do not own the software.

6. Payment, bills and tax

You pay by bank transfer, and we issue a bill for every payment. Prices are published on our website and confirmed on your bill.

Any tax that applies is shown on your bill.

Where Nepali law requires you to deduct tax at source, the amount you deduct counts towards the bill. Please send us the withholding certificate.

7. Renewal and expiry

Licences do not renew automatically. To continue after your term, you buy a new licence at the price current at that time.

Statra warns you in the application before your licence expires.

When it expires, Statra does not lock you out of your own work. You can still open clients and engagements, review trial balances and mappings, view statements, and export them to Excel and PDF.

What stops is new work: adding clients, creating engagements, importing trial balances, mapping and saving. It resumes when you renew. Your data stays on your machine throughout, and we cannot delete it.

8. Refunds

Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms. When a refund is made, the licence it relates to is revoked. Your data stays on your machine.

9. Your clients' data and your authority

Statra keeps your work on your own machine, not with us. You are responsible for that data and for having the right to use it.

You confirm you are permitted to process each client's data in Statra. If you work for a firm, that includes your firm's permission. This matters most on an Individual licence used for an employer's clients: that data belongs to them, not to you or to us.

You are responsible for securing the devices Statra runs on, including backups and disk encryption. The Privacy Policy explains what is and is not encrypted.

10. AI suggestions

Statra can ask an AI model to suggest classifications for accounts. AI suggestions can be wrong, including confidently wrong. They are proposals for you to review, never decisions.

AI mapping sends account names to Google, and the Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is sent. You can switch AI mapping off in Settings. Do so for any client whose account names you are not permitted to share.

11. What you may not do

You may not:

  • share, resell, sublicense or publish your licence key
  • reverse engineer, decompile or extract the source code, except where Nepali law allows it regardless of this agreement
  • remove or alter a notice Statra places on a document it produces, such as the notices about period movements or comparative coverage
  • use Statra to produce statements you know to be false or misleading
  • interfere with the licence server or with anyone else's licence

The notices matter. Statra prints them when the underlying data cannot support what the document appears to say. Removing one turns an honest document into a misleading one.

12. Ownership and feedback

We own Statra, including its software, design and rules. You own your data and the statements you produce.

What Statra learns from your corrections is stored on your machine. We never receive it and do not use it. When AI mapping is on, some past corrections are sent to Google as examples, as the Privacy Policy describes.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve Statra without any obligation to you.

13. Support

Support is by email at support@statranepal.com, on WhatsApp at +977 9747873007, or through Report an issue inside Statra. We aim to reply within a few working days, but we do not guarantee a response time. Statra is maintained by one person.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or revoke a licence if its key is shared or published, if payment is not received, or if Statra is used in breach of these terms. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.

You may stop using Statra at any time. Your data remains on your machine.

15. No warranty

To the extent Nepali law permits, Statra is provided as is. We give no warranty that it is free of errors, that its output is accurate or complete, or that it suits any particular engagement.

16. Limitation of liability

To the extent Nepali law permits:

  • we are not liable for loss of profit, business, data or reputation, for professional liability or regulatory penalties, or for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Statra
  • our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us for the licence in the twelve months before the claim arose, or NPR 1,000 if you paid nothing

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 2075, or any liability that Nepali law does not allow to be limited.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When a change matters to you, Statra will show you the new version and ask you to accept it. Until you do, Statra works as it does after expiry: you can review and export your work, but not start new work. The date at the top shows the version in force.

If you do not accept a change, you can stop using Statra.

18. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. If something goes wrong, tell us first at support@statranepal.com; most problems are settled by talking.

Otherwise, disputes go to the courts of Kathmandu. This does not take away any forum that Nepali consumer law gives you.
